Meeting Mino-san
I met Mino-san in San Francisco on Monday! Mino-san is one of my mutual friends from Twitter. I initially followed her because I loved her art and I thought she was fun, from whatever tweets I was able to read. I didn't know enough Japanese to really speak to her, so I was pretty shy about talking to her. Imagine how shocked I was when she told me she would be visiting California and asked if she could meet me!

At first I told her it would be impossible, since she was visiting the Los Angeles area. When I told her I lived closer to San Francisco, she said she'd fly up there. Q_Q It was a wonderful opportunity I couldn't pass up. I asked Mino-san if my friend JoAnn ([livejournal.com profile] squarebubblex) could join us, and she said yes!

Happy New Year!
Did 2011 start up with that fresh new year feel everyone tends to yearn for? The new beginning? The clean slate?

It sure didn't for me! New Year's always feels weird to me, like any normal day.. Not to mention my mom's attitude was in the pits, so it wasn't great. ^^;

I wrote a resolution for this year and pulled out last year's to compare. It's a tradition my sister and I have started doing two years ago.

So here's what my 2010 resolution said..
-Keep up w/ daily exercises (hopefully)
-Learn katakana + more JPN vocabulary
-Transfer to a 4 year university + finish up vital courses
-Improve in digital painting.
-Work w/ more traditional art
-Do well in classes!
-Work a little on personal page!
-Take more commissions; improve + raise prices
-Get better at drawing animals (and people!)
-Subtitle more videos!

Looking at this, surprisingly, I think I nailed a good number of them, though the exercises, personal page, and doing well in classes are questionable! Exercises went well.. until summer. Personal page didn't go anywhere, though my dA, LJ, and other sites and blogs sort of did. As for classes.. They got harder, so I don't know if I can keep up! What's "well" anymore?

Actually, the katakana bit is.. I mean, I studied it, but I can't recognize it very well. In regards to commissions, I guess I did improve, but I didn't try selling art again ><"

Wow, I don't know what to say. I did a lot of these, so I think I can feel proud of myself? Gosh, I hope my new list isn't too impossible! I'm debating whether or not to share the new list, since I totally did not look at my 2010 resolution at all after writing it until now, so.. The element of surprise is quite nice.

I do know, however, that I hope to post a bit more on my LJ. I'm quite inspired by [livejournal.com profile] avodkabottle 's regular LJ postings with art and updates on her life and felt.. I should do the same, too. ^^; Let's see how that goes.

I was going to put up some art, but I have to get to bed soon. Hahah..

St. Pat's, Hurrah!
I'm falling behind on lots of things, art, comments, RP responses.. XD I'm sorry. Life (school) is getting really hectic on me. I should find some free time soon, so I hope I can use that time to catch up on everyone! Otherwise, I'll just relax and do nothing. Whatever I feel like it! I blog because there are things on my mind, not because I have free time! That's such a terrible reason, though!

I never realized before today how amazing St. Patrick's Day is. It took a poll on Xenophase to make me think about it. I don't celebrate much, and I haven't drawn a picture with St. Patrick's as the theme since 2004-2003 and I never remember to wear green. I did remember today, and when I looked around and noticed some people wearing green as well, even if it's just green earrings or a green sticker stuck to a shirt, I thought it was pretty swell how even a holiday like this can such participants. It's like one of those "Wear Red for Haiti/AIDS/etc." except it's St. Patrick's, and this happens every year. I really like humanity a lot sometimes~

Earlier today I was feeling all doom and gloom about the number of classes/courses I have, but being let out of physics early today made me forget why I was depressed. ^^; Regardless, I did decide I'd have a good day today no matter what happens, and I'm surprised I've allowed my happiness to escalate to this level!

Augh, I have a little over a week to finish my Round 2 entry for UBF!
